Date: Celebrated annually on April 11

Get your groove on April 11 as the world boogies to National Eight Track Tape Day.
Pop in your Tom Jones or Tammy Wynette eight tracks and get down to the music of the sixties and seventies. These clunky cartridges were created in 1964 and became popular thanks to Ford which included the eight-track player in its vehicles the following year.
By the early eighties, the eight-track was on its way out due to smaller technology, though record clubs still sold them up until 1988.
